EXTERNAL VISUALISATION

The proposal contains four separate buildings linked together by walkway bridges. This was designed to make the most of the narrow site and distribute the space in proportion to neighbouring buildings. The design intends to promote interests from the streets and invite people in.

 

Each of the building blocks is rotated to face a certain key view in the surroundings. Having the circulation walkways expose to the street allow passers-by get a glimpse of some actions on site, such as the conservation processes. These circulation bridges also goes in and out of the blocks, allowing the public to see the ‘behind the scenes’ of conservation. To allow this, each laboratory has a full height curtain-walling facing the corridors and or the street below.
